Google Play (App, not site) – Free $1 Credit (YMMV)

Launch the Google Play app on your Android device. The top banner will have a “gift offer” for $ 1 of Google Play credit. The credit must be used by September 24, 2017.

As near as I can tell this must be done through the app; it is not available on the Google Play web site.

EDIT: Appears this may be YMMV. Has shown for everyone I’ve talked with here in person and on various Discord channels, but others on FW report seeing nothing of the sort.

Another ETA: Try wayyyyyy later, main website is down, get an “Error establishing a database connection” on home page, and “500 Server Error. A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.” on product page.

Looks like it’s broken.

3/31 Update: Alternate method (Facebook). Hippo Sak posted the following: “Hippo Sak “Yes, our website has been receiving a record number of requests for samples and it is causing technical issues. If you’d like to private message us with your name, address and email address we can get you on our free sample mailing list” So send a PM to them via FB, if like me, you can’t get the website to cooperate.
